She does minimally invasive vascular interventions in the brain for stroke and brain bleeds. She is also experienced in minimally invasive vascular interventions in the body and limbs.
Her academic career has been brilliant and has all been through general merit.
- MBBS- Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, B.G Nagara, secured distinction
- MD- Radiology from St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore. Secured second rank in state
- DM- Neuroradiology (Neuroimaging and Interventional neuroradiology) from NIMHANS, Bangalore.
After NIMHANS, she was faculty at SRMC (Sri Ramachandra Medical College), Porur in the Dept. Neurointervention & Peripheral Intervention), where she honed her skills in advanced Neurointervention and learnt Peripheral Intervention as well.
After working for 4 years in Chennai, she returned to Mysore and joined JSS where she was the Stroke lead. She introduced complete stroke care for the first time in Mysuru at JSS and made JSS the first Stroke-ready hospital in Mysuru. She was highly successful in her endeavours of introducing IV thrombolysis, minimally invasive neurovascular interventions for stroke and brain bleeds, and their management.
During this time, she learnt from world-renowned leaders in her field –
- Prof. Rene Chapot, Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus Essen, Germany
- Prof. Jacques Moret & Prof. Laurent Spell, Bicêtre Hospital, Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, Paris, France
She underwent a Full Immersion Course (F.I.C) in Stroke and INR with Prof. Vincent Costalat in Montpellier CHU, France. She then pursued a European Diploma in Interventional Neuroradiology from the European Board of Neuroradiology. She got an opportunity to work with Prof, Charbel Mounayer, CHU Dupuytren 1, University Hospital in Limoges, France (2021-2022) where she got a fellowship in Neuro and Stroke Intervention as well.
