Dr. Gaurav Gomez is an experienced physiatrist and rehabilitation specialist with over 8.5 years of expertise in interventional pain management and neurological rehabilitation, delivering advanced, patient-centered care to improve function and quality of life.

Dr. Gaurav Gomez is an experienced and forward-thinking physiatrist with over 8.5 years of clinical expertise across leading medical institutions in India. He brings a strong blend of academic excellence, hands-on clinical experience, and a patient-centered approach to rehabilitation and pain management.

He completed his MBBS from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, followed by two years of rural service. He then pursued his MD in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation from Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, one of India’s largest and most respected centers for brain and spinal injury rehabilitation. Further strengthening his expertise, he completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, and a Fellowship in Pain Medicine from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Dr. Gaurav has also completed a certificate course in Essentials of Palliative Care from the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC), reflecting his interest in integrating rehabilitation and pain management into palliative care. He is particularly passionate about improving quality of life in patients with chronic conditions and sees significant potential for recovery and functional improvement in the geriatric population.

His clinical expertise includes image-guided interventional pain management and comprehensive rehabilitation care. He regularly treats conditions such as spasticity, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), frozen shoulder, osteoarthritis, chronic back and neck pain, overuse injuries, and entrapment neuropathies.

Prior to joining the Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Dr. Gaurav has worked at reputed institutions including St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore; Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Mangalore; and Baptist Hospital, Bangalore. His experience spans high-volume government hospitals, mission hospitals, and corporate healthcare settings, giving him a well-rounded clinical perspective.

With a unique skill set among his peers, Dr. Gaurav combines advanced rehabilitation techniques with interventional pain medicine to deliver effective, evidence-based care.
