Breast augmentation is a pain free procedure that takes 2 hours for both sides and is done under general anesthesia. A cut is made under the breast/under arms/around the nipples, depending on the patient’s body, type of implant or the extent of enlargement intended. The implant is placed into the pocket below or above the chest muscle and the incision is closed with fine sutures.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation also known as Breast Implants or Augmentation Mammoplasty is the surgical enlargement or modification of the breasts either using fat or implants, to increase the size of breasts or restore breast volume that has been lost after weight reduction, pregnancy or due to aging.

What does a Breast augmentation procedure do?

  • Enhances self-confidence and self-image.
  • Increase fullness and projection of breasts
  • Alters shape or texture of breasts
  • Breast implants are also used for breast reconstruction after mastectomy or injury

Breast augmentation does not correct severely drooping or sagging breasts, for which a breast lift may be required in conjunction with breast augmentation or separately.

Types of Breast Implants

  • Silicone/Gel
  • Saline
  • Fat
