What are Nasal Polyps?
Nasal polyps are soft, painless, benign (noncancerous) growths on the lining of the nasal passages. Nasal polyps are caused due to chronic inflammation and can be associated with allergies, asthma, recurring infection and drug sensitivity.
What are the symptoms of Nasal Polyps?
The symptoms of Nasal Polyps can be :

What is sleep apnea and how is it treated?
Snoring can be due to blockage anywhere in your breathing passage between the nose and above voice box. It can be due to a static obstruction like deviated nasal septum, tonsillar swelling or due to a dynamic obstruction like lax soft palate. To find where the blockage is we do an endoscopy of the airway in the OPD.To find out if you have sleep apnea you have to undergo a sleep study.
If you have simple snoring or sleep apnea you will be advised some lifestyle modifications like :
- Losing weight
- Avoiding alcohol while going to sleep
- Avoiding sleep deprivation
- Avoiding sleeping on the back and sleep on the stomach or on the sides.
- Avoid heavy meals at night.
If you have sleep apnea you ‘ll need additional treatment in the form of medications or surgery for straightening septum, stiffening of the palate, and shrinking the tissues of the tongue base.
What is Dysphagia?
The term ‘dysphagia’ refers to difficulty in swallowing which can be due to multiple causes like infection, tumours, neurological conditions, trauma. Based on the history and examination we might treat it medically or go ahead with an endoscopic examination to examine the lower throat and opening of the food pipe

What are the causes for a nose bleed?

How can we treat vertigo?
Vertigo is the spinning sensation which can be due to a problem in the inner ear or due to other rare causes in the brain or other medical conditions. In Sakra, we have a dedicated Audiovestibular lab where we do tests for accurate diagnosis and treatment of the cause. We have a state of the art VNG machine - Videonystagmography. The test is considered to be the Gold Standard for diagnosis of inner ear disease. It measures involuntary eye movement while the patient's balance system is stimulated in different ways.
Is adenoid surgery safe?
Adenoid surgery is being done in our centre using coblation which removes the tissue under vision, unlike older curettage method. It is quite safe and it can improve the breathing of the kid significantly with minimal post-operative recovery time. 
Is the surgery for nasal polyps safe?
Surgery for nasal polyps is called Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. Its an endoscopic surgery and quite safe. We use computer-assisted navigation during surgery if indicated where we have a system to locate the exact site of instrumentation during surgery using pre-op CT scan. This prevents damage to vital structures like the eye, brain.
What is stroboscopy?
Stroboscopy is a special method used to visualize vocal fold vibration. It is done for detecting early vocal cord lesions in patients with voice change or strained voice. It uses a synchronized, flashing light passed through a flexible or rigid telescope. It provides useful, real-time information concerning the nature of vibration, an image to detect vocal pathology, and a permanent video record of the examination.
