Dr. Surender K Yachha is one of the leading pediatric gastroenterologist in Bangalore. He has more than 30 years of extensive experience in the field of gastrointestinal disorders, liver disorders, and pancreatic disorders in infants and children. Being the best pediatrician in Bangalore, he has vast experience in performing endoscopic procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic) in infants and children.

He has held different positions in the paediatric gastroenterology department throughout his career. He was the first to introduce a paediatric gastroenterology department in India with multidimensional growth in the field of patient referral, academics, research, and training programs, he held high positions such as the Founder President of the Indian Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ISPGHAN), Chairperson (National President) Pediatric Gastroenterology specialty of Indian Academy of Pediatrics, etc.

He set up the first post-doctoral certificate course aimed at paediatric gastroenterology for paediatricians (post-MD) in the year 2000. He has taken India to the world map on several disorders and research aspects highlighted through his international research publications and 30 book chapters. He is also the recipient of 94 prestigious awards for his relentless efforts and contribution to healthcare services.

Before joining Sakra World Hospital, Dr. Yachha was the Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, India.
Dr. Surender K Yachha completed his MBBS from the University of Kashmir, and pursued his MD in Paediatrics from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research,
Chandigarh.
His love for academics never ceased to exist. He continued to finish his DM (Gastroenterology), Fellowship, Inclusive of training in Pediatric Gastroenterology, at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh. He also received the Commonwealth Medical Fellowship in Pediatric Hepatology and Pediatric liver transplantation (medical aspects) from the prestigious King’s College, School of Medicine and Dentistry, London, UK.
