Dr. Nandita Ghosal completed her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College and MD (Pathology) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Subsequently she completed her senior residency in Department of Pathology and Haemato –Oncopathology (IRCH), AIIMS, New Delhi.
She is an expert neuropathologist with vast experience in neuro-oncopathology. Surgical neuropathology is a very challenging speciality of anatomical pathology due to the intrinsic complexity of the human brain which most general pathologists find difficult to interpret due to lack of adequate training and experience. Neuro-oncopathology is a superspecialised branch of histopathology especially in the upcoming era of molecular oncology, it is becoming mandatory to integrate the morphological and the molecular diagnosis of brain tumours. This is essential for adequate treatment and further prognostication of these challenging cases.
Having trained in the premier institute (AIIMS) and further being a practising pathologist, she is well versed with reporting of oncopathology, general pathology and cytopathology.
